The concept was simple…

Select twelve once-in-a-lifetime events of personal importance, pursue them over the course of a single year, and write about the experience.

When Liam Caffrey found himself at a crossroads in life, he threw caution to the wind and embarked on The Best Year Ever. From partying at the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner, to trying his luck at the World Series of Poker, to running with the bulls in Pamplona, to celebrating mass with the Pope in St. Peter’s Basilica, Liam pursued his personal bucket list with abandon. This book recounts what he learned about himself through the process, and how the year changed him.

PhotoWhat began as a fun-filled romp through a series of buzz-worthy events ultimately transformed into a soul-searching journey. Equal parts humorous memoir, adventure travelogue, and history lesson, his story has something to offer readers at every stage in life. He penned this tale in the hope that you will find it entertaining and inspirational, and perhaps learn something new along the way.

Take the first step and join the legion of adventurers who experience life with no regrets. The Best Year Ever!

“A remarkable life is not a birthright, it must be earned. Liam Caffrey is a great example of what you can accomplish by making a simple choice—to challenge the mundane and start pursuing a life of adventure.”

– Jon Levy,
Author of The 2 AM Principle: Discover the Science of Adventure

“Liam’s adventure is far more than just checking off a to-do list of excellent experiences. While the sports fan and analyst in me loved so many of the individual events, this book goes further to show how one person’s entire perspective was broadened through exploration. It’s really a blueprint for sports fans and non-sports fans alike—not to copy the exact trips he took, but rather to use his story to think about which experiences would really mean something to you, and then to actually go do them! It’s a way for all of us to think about pursuing more authentic, meaningful experiences in our own lives.”

– Cynthia Frelund,
Analytics Expert for the NFL Network

“Life doesn’t just happen, you make up your mind and go after it…Liam’s tale in The Best Year Ever embodies this same willingness to embrace adventure and personal growth. At a time when he could have remained complacent, he left his comfort zone to travel the world and experience Life, with all of its highs and lows. In the process, he discovered himself and what really matters.”

Former NFL player, television host, and author of The Sportsman: Unexpected Lessons from an Around-the-World Sports Odyssey
